The new Medium stats page is the reason you shouldn’t focus on the outcome
Changes are inevitable. How you deal with them matters.
Medium changed its stats page a few days ago. Writers have shared mixed opinions regarding this change.
If you ask me, I find the old one better.
My main concern is that the new page doesn’t give instant updates. It only shows the views from the previous day.
The changes I’ve noticed so far are:
- Removal of the bar chart. Instead, we now have the graph.
- There is a separate display of reads and views, which I think is good.
- Monthly views instead of the 30-day view.
Why this change is good
My first reaction to the change was, “WTF is this?”
As I said, I don’t prefer the new stats page. However, I have learned to look at the better side of it.
I want to avoid looking at my stats.
Many writers try to focus on the outcome. We measure our improvement each day. I did it too.
