Here’s Something You Probably Didn’t Know About Your Personality
“Purpose trumps personality. If you’re serious about your purpose, it will change your personality.” — Dr. Benjamin Hardy
A few weeks ago, I had a mental breakdown. I became anxious about my work, career, and future. Additionally, my relationships weren’t doing well at the time. I had ups and downs with my girlfriend, and my parents were trying to get me to do things I didn’t want to do.
All these incidents hit me hard. I was worried and went through a deep circle of thoughts. I didn’t want to talk to anyone. It was a difficult time.
I tried everything to make myself feel better—exercising, journaling, meditating, and trying to focus on work. Nothing helped. And soon, I broke down. I began questioning everything I was doing. Among many questions, the two significant ones were:
- What is going on in my life?
- Why am I like this?
The first question is understandable. I was going through a lot, so I was confused about why everything was falling apart. The second question was more intense because I began questioning my personality. My self-concept was negative. I didn’t understand why I was the way I was.
