An Effective Writing Tip for Beginners to Find Tons of Ideas

Yesterday, my friend told me he was thinking of joining Medium. So he wanted my opinion on what topic he should start writing on.

The first answer that came to my mind was:

Write about your life.

I didn’t mean he should write about his personal life or what he did on the weekend.

I meant he should write about the things he likes — the conversations he has in everyday life, the places he visits, the food he eats, the people he meets, and so on.

When I first started writing online, I had the same issue. I was clueless as to what topics to cover.

I began writing what I enjoyed doing every day. For example, I wrote about books, career choices, health, personal finance, jobs, and more. I would usually reflect on my experiences and write about the lessons I learned.

If you are a new writer who doesn’t know what to write about, observe what you do in your daily life. You will find tons of ideas.
