Level up your writing.

  1. Write more: It is the best way to learn and improve your writing.
  2. Read more: Read books, blog posts, online journals, newsletters, and — most importantly — articles from successful writers.
  3. Subscribe to newsletters: Sign up for newsletters from successful writers. Most of them provide writing tips to their subscribers.
  4. Write about different topics: Don’t limit yourself. Instead, write about different topics that you know and are interested in.
  5. Start a blog: Writing in your blog gives you freedom. You’ll have a space to experiment.
  6. Collect ideas: Always look out for writing ideas. They are everywhere. You have to be able to find them. Carry a pocket notebook (or use the notes app) to write down ideas.
  7. Republish your articles: Don’t publish on a single platform. Instead, publish wherever you can — Medium, Linkedin, Twitter, and Quora.

…because we’re all going to die.

We all know that someday we will die. Yet, we fear death.

But, death can be a great motivation.

Instead of being afraid of death, embrace it. You are in this world for a short amount of time. So, make it worthwhile.

As I said, we know that death is inevitable. But what is uncertain is the time of our death.

So, don’t wait. If you want to do something, do it now. If you want to say something to someone, say it now. You don’t know what is going to happen tomorrow.

Memento Mori (Remember you must die)

Don’t get stuck doing the things you hate. Instead, do what makes you happy, alive, and fulfilled.

Focus on the things that are within your control. There is no point in being upset about something you cannot control.

You don’t need a writing course.

When you start as a new writer with no prior writing experience, becoming a successful writer online might sound like a big deal.

I thought the same when I started my blog two years ago.

I had no writing experience, and my articles were horrible. But, I kept writing more and more. So then, I started learning, and I got better at writing.

So, here’s how to become a better writer:

By writing more.

The real improvement happens when you sit down and write.

Here are a few more tips:

  • Write more (that’s the most important)
  • Read more (books, articles, stories, etc.)
  • Follow other successful writers (read their work, subscribe to their newsletters, and follow their path)
  • Develop a routine and stick to it.

…or at least lessen them.

You got problems in life. We all do. Some problems are big; others are small.

You keep asking God or the universe why you have all these problems. You wish they went away so that you could live peacefully.

Your problems can get away easily. But, they still exist in your life. There is only one person to blame for this situation, and that person is you. It is because you are not taking action.

Three steps to get rid of your problems.

  • Step 1: List out all your problems on a piece of paper.
  • Step 2: Make another list that includes a possible solution to them. Write what action(s)—small or big — you can take today that would solve (or at least lessen) your problems.
  • Step 3: Start doing the things you mentioned on the second list.
